Heyward is currently on the injured list with knee inflammation and will not play again this year. The Cubs will then release him after the season. Heyward is owed $22 million in 2023, the final year of his eight-year, $184 million contract.

one of the most over-rated & over paid players of the past decade.

Never hit above .270 with the cubs, double digit homers 2/7 seasons. Not a stolen base guy. Above avg defense most of the time, but could have been replaced way cheaper

I started a thread on this forum the day he signed that contract and declared it one of the worst contracts in MLB history on day 1
